We are back!
Dear friends and colleagues,
ETNOFILm festival has grown from an utopian desire of bringing closer ethnographic documentary film to a broader audience, but also as a need to build international visual anthropology niche. During this eight year period we’ve developed the festival recipe where all the ingredients matter equally: specific genre approach, professional team, intimate festival atmosphere and communication with the audience.
Those are our wishes for the ninth year of the festival as well but with an important conceptual transformation: instead of open call we had in the previous years the film program will be based on invited films and authors.
In other words, from 2017 we will not have an open call for films and the official festival competition. We turn new page with carefully curated film program focused on experimental ethnography, independent production, intensive masterclasses and
Q&A sessions with selected authors but also we see the festival as an opportunity to share experiences between local directors, ethnologist, cultural anthropologists and students with the international network of partners.
Bojan Mucko and Lea Vene together with the festival director Tamara Nikolić Đerić will select and curate the program together with invited authors whose work fit festival sensibility and this years topic: experimental modes of visual representation.
April in Rovinj is still marked by ETNOFILm festival! See You there from 27th – 29th of April!
